I have a new Dell Studio 17" laptop with all the bells and whistles that I use for video editing. While rendering video, the machine got so hot underneath (while sitting an inch above the desk for ventilation) that I looked into a cooler.
This cooler is amazing, the laptop fan doesn't even come on any more and it's cold underneath now. There is no noise from the fans, maybe if you're very sensitive you might hear something but it's far less than the laptop fan was.
Zalman has always made high-quality cooling products for computers and they hit a home run again on this one.

Great design! Does exactly what it is designed for better than any other laptop cooler on the market, and trust me I've done my research. Major pro is the adjustable fan speed so you can make it completely silent yet still pumping enough air to keep any notebook cool. Cons, only 1 extra USB port, it woudln't have taken much to add a couple extra ports as a USB hub. Also it puts too much of an angle on the notebook, I wish this was somehow adjustable to decrease the angle.
Still rating this 5 stars even with the 2 shortcoming, because there is simply nothing better.
